Help save lives on WA beaches today

With our West Aussie beach-loving culture, there’s no better way to celebrate summer than by wearing your boardies for #BoardiesDayWA to help saves lives on WA beaches.

You can support the volunteer surf lifesavers as they keep our beaches safe throughout summer.

Whether it’s boardies in the classroom or boardies in the board room, every dollar you raise through your Boardies Day event will help save lives on West Australian beaches.

How to get involved

Hold a classic free your knees 'wear your boardies’ event, a summer themed event, or simply celebrate the iconic red and yellow of our beach heroes.
Whether you organise a group event with your school or workplace, or go solo - there's no right or wrong. Just like how you choose to spend time at the beach, the choices are endless.

Your School

Ask your teacher to let you have a fun day with water safety activities while wearing your brightest boardies. If you and your school mates all bring a gold coin you'll make a huge difference. And next time you're on the beach, make sure to let the surf lifesavers know you support them.

Your Workplace

Thinking about the beach instead of work? Wear your boardies in the office, hold a bbq, or wear red and yellow for the day. If everyone contributes a small donation your workplace will be supporting the vital equipment and training of the volunteers that keep you safe on our West Aussie beaches.

Just You

Just do you! Pick an activity, and ask your friends to support your challenge. Swim every morning, undertake a fitness challenge, or be creative with the red and yellow theme. The choice is yours. Whatever challenge you choose - you'll be helping our volunteer surf lifesavers save lives.

Why do we volunteer...

In WA alone, more than 5,000 trained volunteer surf lifesavers commit their weekends and public holidays to patrol more than 100,000 hours along our coastline to keep beachgoers safe.

Because of your generosity, they will have the world-class training and equipment they need to face any situation with skill and confidence.

But why do our surf lifesavers volunteer to keep you safe?
